Okay, so the challenge this week was an inspiration challenge chosen by the fabulously talented Sandi MacIver, and I was bad again 'cause I just copied this picture from her blog without asking... (Is that okay? I am still making my Saturday confession here!) Besides, she has an event going on right now and it's not like I'm going to call and interrupt her event!!!!!! (hee hee - I'm sure I'll hear about THAT one!) LOL
And here is my card....
Card Base: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 (top fold) Sahara Sand CS
Stamp Sets: Short and Sweet, Sweetheart
Mat Panel: 4 x 5-1/4 Taken with Teal CS
Old Olive Panels: 1-1/2 x 3-3/4
Embossed Panels: 1-1/4 x 3-1/2 Brilliant Blue CS
Bird Panel: 3 x 1-7/8
Mat for Bird Panel: 3-1/4 x 2-1/8
Punches: Modern Label, Word Window, Bird Punch, Scalloped Circle Punch
Other Supplies: Versamark Ink, gold embossing powder, old olive ink, old olive grosgrain ribbon, vintage brad
I punched the branch out twice: once in old olive and once in close to cocoa. I cut the leaves off the close to cocoa one and glued in on top of the old olive branch. I popped up the matted bird panel, the bird's wing and the matted greeting panel.
I took my inspiration from the birds in the dark blue curtain panels and the two-tone bird in the pillow on the far left (they are there, you just have to look closely!). I also included a flower in place of the fluffy pillow. Just don't look too closely or you might see all my imperfections! LOL
I'm still tweeking my blog and learning how to do stuff to my photos, so just be patient and let me know if I break any rules! hee hee
I had fun, and I hope you did too. Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to wish that special someone in your life a Happy Mother's Day!
OH my goodness, look at you. This card is absolutely stunning and matches the curtains so well. You did an amazing job, and No you are not in trouble for taking the picture from my blog - you can do that. I just wished you lived closer so you could have been here for all the fun today, my goodness, we had a blast.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along with us, I hope you will load this to Miss Carole'Anne's blog so everyone can come and visit to see it too.
